Privacy policy

What we know about you, why, and how to delete it. No legal fog.

Last updated: 17 September 2026

Who processes your data

The data controller is Break The Pattern, operator of breakthepattern.cz. You can write to us any time at breakthepatterninfo@gmail.com — privacy questions get the same 24-hour reply as inquiries.

Contact form

When you send an inquiry we process your name, email, phone, inquiry type and message. One purpose only: to reply, quote a price and arrange the repair or project. The legal basis is steps prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

You are not legally required to provide this data. Without it, though, we have no way to reply.

We keep the message while the inquiry and any resulting work are ongoing, for at most 3 years after our last contact. Then we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

Delivery is handled by Web3Forms, which forwards the message to our inbox. It states it does not store submissions; its servers are in the US. Our inbox runs on Gmail (Google).

Visitor statistics — only if you allow them

If you choose “Allow analytics” in the bar at the bottom, the Umami tool starts. It collects: which pages you opened, where you came from, browser and device type, operating system, browser language, screen size, country (and, where derivable from the IP address, region and city), what you clicked and how fast the page loaded.

Umami uses no cookies and no identifier that could follow you across websites. It stores no personally identifiable data, not even your IP address. Even we cannot find you in the data.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Withdraw it any time with the “Cookie settings” button in the footer — statistics stop immediately. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.

It is operated by Umami Software, Inc. (USA), with servers in the US and the EU.

The same consent also starts Microsoft Clarity. It records anonymous sessions - mouse movement, scrolling, clicks and page transitions - and builds click heatmaps from them, so we can see where the site confuses people. Form field contents are masked while it does so.

Unlike Umami, Clarity uses cookies; they are listed in the next section. We explicitly deny it storage for advertising. It is operated by Microsoft Corporation (USA). If you withdraw consent, Clarity deletes its cookies and recording stops.

Remembering your choice

Your decision from the bar (yes/no and a date) is kept by your browser for 6 months in localStorage under the key btp-consent-v1. It contains nothing personal and is never sent anywhere. It is the only thing we store without asking — without it we would have to ask on every visit.

Cookies and fonts

Without your consent the site sets no cookies at all. No ads, no remarketing, no social plugins.

If you allow analytics, Microsoft Clarity sets cookies: _clck and _clsk on our domain (visitor identifier and grouping page views into one session) and CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID and SM on the clarity.ms domain. They exist to recognise that the same visitor viewed several pages. Umami uses no cookies at all.

Fonts are served from our own domain. Nothing is sent to Google or anyone else for them.

Hosting

The site runs on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). GitHub may log visitor IP addresses for security reasons. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have no access to those logs.

Transfers outside the EU

Some of the providers above are based or process data outside the EU (USA, India). Transfers are governed by Chapter V of the GDPR.

If you would rather your data never left the EU: email us directly instead of using the form, and do not allow statistics. The quality of our reply is the same.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable form, and object. Consent to statistics can be withdrawn at any time.

Just write to breakthepatterninfo@gmail.com. We do no automated decision-making or profiling.

If you believe we are handling your data wrongly, you can lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection.

Changes

When something changes — a new tool, a different provider — we update this page and the date at the top. Nothing else will be slipped past you.
